Sponsored by Midland States Bank, the conference begins with breakfast and networking, followed by breakout sessions and panels featuring alumnae leaders in engineering, business and social innovation. A vendor fair will also be held throughout the morning. The Women in Philanthropy Luncheon and Saluki Women\u2019s Awards will take place in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1133\">Friday evening concludes with the Saluki Women Networking Social at Becker Pavilion, which will include the Saluki Sisterhood Walk around Campus Lake.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1289\">Saturday highlights include the Women in Leadership Mentorship Breakfast at the Student Center and the Saluki Women\u2019s Tailgate Experience at Saluki Row.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1619\">The Women\u2019s Leadership Council Mentor Program is a cornerstone of the weekend. Its vision is to connect students with successful women mentors to align classroom learning with real-life experiences, develop leadership skills, expand professional networks and explore career pathways after college. The program\u2019s goals include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"1697\">Facilitating professional growth, development and confidence of mentees.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"1780\">Providing an avenue for women to develop and demonstrate leadership abilities.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1783\" data-end=\"1943\">Creating networking opportunities that enhance teamwork, coaching, professional insight and recognition of women\u2019s contributions to SIU Carbondale and beyond.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1946\" data-end=\"2012\">Building lifelong donors committed to sustaining SIU Carbondale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2014\" data-end=\"2264\">\u201cWomen are amazing, women are innovative, and women are passionate,\u201d said Sherrica Hunt, assistant vice chancellor for development and alumni relations, anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion, and corporate partnerships at the SIU Foundation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2266\" data-end=\"2552\">Melissa Hahn, a Women\u2019s Leadership Council board member, said she has enjoyed watching connections form between students, recent graduates and experienced alumnae. \u201cIt has been so neat seeing some of the students and recent graduates connect with the more seasoned alumni,\u201d Hahn said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2554\" data-end=\"2772\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/?p=4677\">The Midland States Bank Foundation recently awarded a $7,500 grant to the Women\u2019s Leadership Council<\/a> to expand its work in mentorship and economic empowerment opportunities for SIU students and the broader community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2774\" data-end=\"2929\">The event is free and open to all, with smart casual attire recommended.
