{"id":3829,"date":"2024-07-18T19:15:41","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T19:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/?p=3829"},"modified":"2024-08-27T16:17:14","modified_gmt":"2024-08-27T16:17:14","slug":"siu-foundation-expands-fundraising-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/?p=3829","title":{"rendered":"SIU Foundation expands fundraising team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SIU Foundation is ecstatic to announce the expansion of its fundraising team.<\/p>\n<p>Coming off a historic Fiscal Year 2024 in which it raised $46.8 million and in the middle of the Imagine SIU 2030 fundraising campaign, the SIU Foundation is building on this incredible momentum.<\/p>\n<p>The following individuals began their new roles on July 1, 2024:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jen Badiu<\/strong>, assistant director of development for the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brian Flath<\/strong>, director of development for Student Affairs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carol Greenlee<\/strong>, director of development for the School of Education<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brittney Morrison<\/strong>, assistant director of development for the College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Michelle Snyder<\/strong>, assistant director of development for the College of Arts and Media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOur staff has been doing amazing things, and these five individuals are going to help push our fundraising efforts even further,\u201d said Matt Kupec, vice chancellor for development and alumni relations and CEO of the SIU Foundation. \u201cThe SIU Foundation Board of Directors has invested in our team, and adding to our tremendous team of fundraisers allows us to expand our role as an accelerator for the university.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3830\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/jen-badiu-web.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Badiu<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>previously served as an academic advisor in SIU\u2019s College of Health and Human Sciences. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Florida State University, a master\u2019s degree from Nova Southeastern University, and has started working toward her doctoral degree at SIU. In 2005, she became the system director for Southern Illinois Healthcare, overseeing the growth and development of the region\u2019s first comprehensive freestanding cancer center, Breast Centers, and established the Office of Clinical Research. Jen was instrumental in the initiation of fundraising efforts, including Pink Out Cancer, Black Out Cancer, SIU Coach Kill Cancer Fund, and SIH Grateful Patient &amp; Family Giving Fund.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3831 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/brian-flath-web.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Flath comes to the Foundation after nearly nine years in the Corporate Support Department at WSIU Public Broadcasting. He also previously worked for Lee Enterprises as an advertising sales representative, at both The Southern Illinoisan and Herald &amp; Review newspapers. He received his bachelor\u2019s degree from SIU journalism with a specialization in advertising. He is involved in several community organizations, including the Carterville Area Rotary Club, several local chambers of commerce, the Knights of Columbus Council #10453, and The Night\u2019s Shield in West Frankfort.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3833\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.siuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/carol-greenlee-web.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Greenlee\u00a0had been the associate director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute for two years, contributing significantly to the implementation of key initiatives and managing distinguished campus visits.\u00a0\u00a0She chairs the SIU Head Start Government Board and serves on the SIU Credit Union Board of Directors.\u00a0She holds two degrees from SIU Carbondale, a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Education. Before that, she was the admissions and events coordinator for SIU Undergraduate Admissions. She holds both bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees from SIU Carbondale, specializing in workforce education and development and public health, respectively.
